Global head, WPP health practice
If you set out to make a mark in healthcare marketing, would you start your own comms company specializing in healthcare, or try to get a job leading the healthcare efforts of a giant ad holding company? Mike Hudnall, global head of WPP’s new healthcare offering, has done both.
In 2006, Hudnall helped found Evoke Health, which started as a digital agency but grew to offering PR and influence services, digital strategy, web development, relationship marketing, media planning and buying, and other services.
Hudnall spent six years at Evoke as cofounder and chief strategic officer before moving to WPP. At the holding company he continued his advance in the healthcare world, eventually being named CEO of Team Pfizer.
Then last year he made his next jump, when WPP boldly planted its flag in the healthcare universe by combining three of its top 10 healthcare agencies with media-planning giant CMI/Compas to create WPP Health & Wellness, naming Hudnall as CEO. And in October, WPP further integrated its firms to create a new health offering and made Hudnall the global head.
